Selecting the Hebrew Name

The baby naming is an important part of the Bris ceremony. A Hebrew name needs to be selected. Family members may choose to talk about the meaning of the name or the person whom the baby is named after.

Ashkenazic Jews customarily name after the deceased. Sephardic Jews traditionally name after the living. A child may have one or more names.

You will receive a beautiful Bris certificate, from Dr. Diamond, done in calligraphy, with your son's English and Hebrew names and his secular and corresponding Hebrew date of birth, that all participants will sign at the Bris.
